Hunting & Weapon Safety Tips

1. Always treat your weapon as if it is loaded and ready to be fired.

2.  Be sure of your target and what is behind it.

3.  Unload firearms and unstring bows when they are not in use.

4.  Handle all firearms and ammunition with care.  Never climb over and obstacle with a loaded firearm or exposed arrows.

5.  Never drink alcohol or do drugs before handling a firearm or hunting.  Drugs, Alchol, and weapons do not mix.

6.  Know the range of your firearm.  Remember, what goes up must come down.

7.  Always unload a firearm before riding in a vehicle such as an ATV, truck, car, boat, etc.

8.  Dress for the weather and always have emergency supplies.  An emergency supply kit should include a first aid kit, food, water, and a communications device; Just to name a few.

9.  Always tell someone where you are going and when you will be home.

10.  Carry a flashlight with you when walking during dusk, dawn, and night time hours.  A careless hunter probablly won't shoot you if you're holding a bright glowy thing.
